Tracking Device Integration
We have two different models for tracking device integration.
Option 1 - Using GpsGate Server Protocol
The GpsGate Server Protocol is open and there are no fees. You can find the protocol specifications here: GpsGate Server Protocol.
Using GpsGate Server Protocol, your device will also work with customers who have their own GpsGate Server, either installed on their own servers or hosted by us. We can also add your device to the Connect Guide.
GpsGate TrackerOne is a reference design for how a tracker unit interacts with GpsGate Server.
TrackerOne can be implemented as a software client on a mobile phone or similar mobile device, or as a black box tracker device. The TrackerOne reference design is focused on tracker / server interaction and leaves the field open for how the actual software and hardware is designed and implemented.
Option 2 - Support for your current device protocol
This integration will not be supported on the main GpsGate.com service. It will be available as a custom option to customers who install and run their own servers, or let us host their server.
Common GpsGate Usage
In general, there are three ways to use GpsGate applications:
- Use VehicleTracker available on GpsGate.com.
- Let us host a custom server. More information about that option here.
- The customer runs his own server on his own hardware. More information about that option here.
If you implement GpsGate Server Protocol in your devices, all options will be available for customers using your devices.
If you let us implement your protocol, option 2 and 3 will be available for customers using your devices.
