April 2022

Tweaks and bug fixes to improve the user experience make up the bulk of April's release. Site administrators benefit the most from the newest updates. Configure ArcGIS maps with API keys and easily audit system emails sent to application users.

New

Developer & System Administration

  • ArcGIS Maps/Layers can be configured with an optional ArcGIS API key to access premium features. See SiteAdmin > Map > ArcGI > ArcGIS API Customization.
  • ArcGIS Maps now adheres to the configured map language for your VT application.
  • ArcGIS API update to latest version, v4.23 and v3.39 (legacy).

Device Plugins

We're constantly updating device plugins and adding more supported devices. To see the updates, search for your device on our supported devices page. All individual device pages show the releases for the device manufacturer.

  • ATrack: AK7V device added tire temperature and tire pressure.
  • Meitrack: support for all EventCodes for P88L device.
  • Suntech: added ST340UR device.
  • Queclink: added GV75W, GB100MG, GL310MG, GL320MG, GV57, GV57MG, GV53MG, GV75MG, GL501MG, GL520MG, and GL53MG devices.
  • Teltonika: added FMB641, FMB910, FMB900, FMB965, FMB230, FMC230, FMM230, FMB240, FMC225, FMB225, FMB209, FMC125, MSP500, TRB245, TRB255, RUT956, RUTX09, RUTX11, RUTX12, and RUTX14 devices.
  • Ulbotech: added MGR1 for T381 device
  • WirelessLinks: Fix OneWire sensor parsing

Languages

The following languages have been updated over the past month: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish.

Improved

User Experience

  • UI is more tablet touch-friendly. Windows and panels can be moved and resized.
    Custom fields table displays long values better without overlap.
  • Add auto focus to name form field when creating a new Tag, View, or Localization key. Now you don't have to select the field manually before typing.
  • Map tools that are not map fullscreen compatible will not have visible activation buttons when in fullscreen mode.
  • Optimize fullscreen map mode for use in Safari.

Reporting

  • POI Export could display non-human readable error message.

Developer & System Administration

  • Change the way email messages are sent. Make email more easily auditable.
  • Update email service components to work properly with the message queue.
  • WatchDog.Client: WatchDog performance improvements.
  • Localize Teltonika SensorTemp variable in Edit User form.
Fixed

Tracks

  • Fix bug where brackets were rendered in the Tracks panel.

Developer & System Administration

  • "User Access Mask Editor" works again.
  • French Language: fix an issue that caused vehicle list buckets filter to not display any vehicles when using French language.
  • Fix typos and improve texts in Batch Update Users > Accumulators form.
  • Redirect to log in page if an error occurs when selecting an application to log in to.
  • Fix issue where Android auto registration won't work.
  • Fix workspace in Basic One template.
  • Fix error message when saving an SMS provider in the MS SQL server.
  • Fix bug so emails sent by WatchDog.Client server are not detected as SPAM.
  • Fix issue with the event rule clone function of rules that contains POI expressions.
  • The KML Feed control's url is absolute again (includes full server URL).

User Experience

  • Vehicle Status: Fix bug where bluetooth icon won't show.
  • Null values in the vehicle list are shown as an empty string again.
  • Fix an issue when user is trying to save an SMS provider. When using the MS SQL Server, an error shows "value was too large or too small for an unsigned byte."

Reporting

  • Fix bug when the "Filter on tag" menu was duplicated after a view change.
Deprecated

Dispatch was deprecated with March's release.

Chat is deprecated. SOAP for reporting is now removed. REST API should be used.

Tracks (Legacy) was deprecated with the August 2021 release. Upon page load, the (newer) Tracks is always displayed.

As of August 17, 2021, GpsGate removed support for Internet Explorer 11. IE11 users will receive a warning in their browser. If you haven't updated your browser, we recommend it.
