Maintenance (GpsGate Cloud Premium Feature)

Resource costs change. Two service stations may sell tires or oil at different prices, so we made it possible to change costs during and after service tasks to account for this. What’s more? GpsGate Cloud users can now add historical services within the Maintenance feature to keep a better record of vehicle upkeep. Here are some more highlights:

  • Add an option to add an old service via the vehicle right-click menu in the Maintenance feature

  • Introduce Next Service instead of First Service
  • Simplify the Maintenance panel and setup for service schedules
  • Enhance the usability of the feature

Developer & System Admin

December 2023

Fleet solutions perform best when users can easily configure them. In this month’s release of GpsGate, our tracking partners can expect an even more streamlined workflow. More site settings, like SiteAdmin roles and selected map configurations, have moved in-app. No need to navigate back and forth between GpsGate applications and SiteAdmin. Beyond that, our team increased the capabilities of integrated Teltonika and Cypress devices so that our tracking partners stay ahead with their offerings.

Read on to discover where these site settings have moved!

Curious about GpsGate Cloud? Give it a test drive for 30 days risk-free. Instant registration is now available on our website, Here's how to request a GpsGate Cloud account.

Migrate SiteAdmin Settings into the platform

Fleet management should be seamless - for system integrators, and end users alike. Moving settings from SiteAdmin into the platform ensures a more streamlined workflow, allowing for settings to be changed right in the UI. No need to leave the application to fine-tune it for fleet customers. If you can't find what you're looking for, navigate to your application and use the search menu to find what you’re after.

Please note: Create and edit functions have moved in-app. These settings are now available directly in applications for SiteAdmin users. Go to any application’s main menu and select Server Administration → Application → Manage Applications.

  • Add a badge to indicate that the Store is only visible to SiteAdmin users

Developer & System Admin

  • Add support for "TOW_CAR" activity

October 2023

This month, we made the world’s leading map interface easier than ever to configure. Headlining our October Release is the roll-out of Google Maps in the GpsGate Store. Enabling this popular map option means that you’ll access satellite imagery, street maps, real-time traffic conditions, and the Google Geocoder. Providing your customers with a constantly updated map, real-time traffic conditions, and unlimited geocoding, is now easier than ever.

Cloud and On-Site users can now enable Google Maps right in the platform.

It’s been a busy month for our device integration team, as our platform has welcomed new compatible devices and inputs from Teltonika, Queclink, GosuncnWelink, and Joint.

Our new Dashboard feature has undergone enhancements, specifically with error handling, and UI improvements. Give GpsGate Cloud a go, and test out Dashboard free until 1st of December 2023. Learn how to set up a GpsGate Cloud account here.

New

Google Maps in-Store

Benefit from the latest version of Google Maps, unlimited geocoding, real-time traffic conditions, satellite imagery, and street maps. This robust set of map functionalities optimizes fleet management. Configure Google Maps across applications in the GpsGate Store. Here are a couple of things to know:

  • If a Google Maps key exists, and nothing is done, no changes will occur in the platform
  • If a Google Maps key already exists, and Google Maps in-Store is enabled, the in-Store version will override the existing version
  • When Google Maps keys get disabled, the feature can be re-enabled from the Store

Read more about configuring Google Maps in the GpsGate Store!

Other map updates in GpsGate include:

  • Map plugins, ArcGIS layers, and custom maps are now managed in the application (previously found in "Privileges" section)
  • New "Maps and Geocoders" section to added to Edit Application form
  • Applications no longer disable Google Maps when removing keys from Legacy SiteAdmin or when enabling in-Store
  • Google Maps will no longer be loaded in developer mode when the server is missing a Google Maps API key

Developer & System Administration

  • Application Templates can now use licenses in the same way as regular applications
  • The Archiving plugin is now deprecated. You will need to uninstall this plugin from your platform before updating to Updates.v5
